Helios Receives Corporate Impact Award for Excellence in Philanthropy

Helios HR is honored to be the recipient of Shelter House's Corporate Impact Award for Excellence in Philanthropy at their 8th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Awards, held virtually this year due to COVID-19. The Corporate Impact Award for Excellence in Philanthropy honors a corporation that has impacted Shelter House on many different levels through corporate contributions (board support, employee giving programs, fundraising, in-kind donations, monetary donations/sponsorships, volunteering and pro-bono projects). Shelter House, Inc. is a community-based, non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention, safe housing, and supportive services to homeless families and victims of domestic violence in our community.

Shelter House honored Helios HR as a recipient of this award for providing renovations to two of their largest office spaces. CEO of Helios HR, Kathy Albarado, coordinated with Artemis House shelter staff to ensure the timeline worked for the program and that the contractors were scheduled to come during appropriate times.

"This renovation allowed for staff to work in a more welcoming and cohesive working environment, to provide better service to our clients. These office spaces are the first spaces our clients see when they enter shelter, and without this generous donation we never would have been able to provide our units the updates that they so desperately needed," Shelter House reported. “Knowing our clients are welcomed with an inviting space, is so satisfying! This renovation has truly made an impact not just on our staff, but for the survivors of domestic violence we serve. Thank you, Helios HR!," said Amanda Pinkham, Director of Programs and Services Region III, at Artemis House. 

In addition to the recent renovation, the Helios HR team has supported Shelter House through in-kind donation, financial contributions, volunteerism efforts – including an annual Halloween Party– and much more.
